整个故事围绕两条线索展开，一个是丈夫对发生事情的实时记述，一个是妻子过去的日记。妻子的日记还比较有看头，丈夫的记述太意识流，太啰嗦了……不耐烦中。剧情快点展开吧……

finally finished it. had the kid not cried, i would have finished it yesterday. now i'm too pissed off to go to sleep, both by him and by the book.
when i was still dozens of pages away from the end, i was truly thrilled. i thought perhaps it was ANGELS AND DEMONS again -- i may forget about its plot but i never forget how dumbfounded i was when i finished that book, dumbfounded and amazed. dan brown was a genius, but gillian flynn is not. i don't like her story, not the beginning and the end.
i have to admit many important details lie behind the seemingly boring beginning, but it is so offputting i almost gave up midway. the plot extends itself for too long i almost lost interest. and the end. it could hardly be called an end. it's a fully blown ballon with a tiny hole, so tiny that it won't explode, just air gradually going away. i hate it when stories end that way.
i'm just a regular, mediocre reader who doesn't appreciate mysterious literature schools and their theories. i just want bad people punished.
i'll put the book in the most unfrequented corner on my shelf so that i would never think of reading it again.
