ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Simon didn’t seem soslippery in the premiere, but now he’s somewhere near the top of my list ofsuspects. What can you tell me about why he’s duping those around him atQuantico?
JOSH SAFRAN: I think that it’s a key to a deeper mystery about Simon, thefirst key that will unlock many doors. Elias continues to dig deeper into themystery of Simon, especially after realizing at the end of this episode thatSimon did indeed switch the glasses out. They’re playing a little bit of a gamewith each other.
EW: Simon在试播集的时候还没那么可以，但是他现在是我认为的头号嫌疑犯之一。关于他的谎言你可以告诉我些什么吗？

ThatFacebook profile he was looking at under the name “Mark Raymond” … that’sdefinitely Caleb, right? As in this isn’t another case of a character havinga surprise twin?
That iscorrect! It is him. The question is: Why is it him? Andwhat does it mean? It is, again, the beginning of the trail of breadcrumbs forthe audience to follow about his character.
EW: Caleb在结尾看的Facebook账号里的名字是“MarkRaymond”，这是他本人，是吗？这不代表又有一对双胞胎吧？
JS:账号是Caleb的。问题是，为什么他要注册一个这样的账号？这代表这什么？这是揭开Caleb一系列秘密的开始。

Lookingahead to next week, now that Alex’s name is out there, I know that her mothergets involved. What can you tease about that?
Yes, once the press has revealed the name of [Alex as] the prospectiveterrorist, her mother’s going to have a lot to say about that. And that informsthe plot of episode 3, which also shows the NATs looking more into eachother’s psychology even more than in the pilot. They go deeper.
EW:下一集里，Alex的名字被公布了，我知道她妈妈会有戏份？有什么可以剧透的吗？
JR:是的。媒体一旦公布了Alex的名字，她的母亲必须要表态。这会出现在EP3中。EP3还会讲探员学员们开始更加深入的了解互相的心理，比试播集里要走的更深。
So is nextweek’s class going to be the NATs interrogating each other again, as in thepremiere?
Not exactly, but they’re definitely going to be pressing each other’s buttonsin a major way. And it leads to a lot of interpersonal fireworks… This show is obviously densely plotted, but the fun is that while Alexremains on the run in the future, in episode 3, the snapshot widens much morethan it did in episode 2, because the characters in the present find themselveswith nowhere to turn just as Alex in the future finds herself with nowhere toturn. It really raises the heat up much higher on them. There’s still the“getting to know you” phase in episode 2, and then episode 3 is when nowthat they really know you, what will they do with that?
EW:所以说下星期探员学院们又会像试播集里面互相审问吗？
JR:这样说不准确，但是学员们肯定会继续互相试探，会导致很多人与人之间的火花与冲突。而有趣的是，在EP3里，学员们会发现他们就和未来的Alex一样无处可逃。在EP2里大家还处于相互认识的阶段，而在EP3里，大家已经互相有了一定的了解了，他们有会怎么做呢？
